Birthday Festivities pt.2

It's night time. It could be anytime. I haven't slept. I can't sleep. How could I? After a party like that, and a 430am wake up call to go on a Safari... it was an all nighter for me. Here we are, sitting outside our house in the wee hours of the morning. But, no car! Alas, we tracked him down, about 400 yards away. And headed to pick up Bharath and onward to Bangaghatta National Forest we headed.

Before entering... the trees can talk!

Led by this guy... he has a shotgun.

Melon-sized-poo...

Beginning leg of the trek, that's where we are headed...

Crystals

"To see a World in a grain of sand,
And Heaven, in a wildflower
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,
And Eternity in an hour..."

We made it.

On top of the World!

Nice hat.

THOSE ARE ELEPHANTS.

Camouflage.

The entire day was filled with adventure. Sightings of all kinds of fauna and flora. Most of all, it was just fun.

I have talked to Bharath recently about collaborating on a field project to map the Flora of Bannerghata (most of my contribution would be taking photographs) ... we should be getting started soon. Keep your fingers crossed.

After the Safari, we recovered for a bit, and then headed to a place called "grasshopper" for dinner. They came out with course after course (of course we brought our own wine), the food was exquisite. The company even better. Quite a perfect birthday bash, if you ask me.
